Lancaster FC will be adhering to the New age group player formation Cycle for the
2026-2027 Season
Why the Change?
The new August-July age group cycle is designed to:
Align youth soccer with the academic calendar
Align with other youth sports typically grouped by graduation year
Reduce the number of “trapped” or “forced-up” players
Simplify communication for clubs, leagues, and families
Support consistency across programs and levels of play
This collective decision among national youth soccer organizations creates a unified structure that better supports player development and team formation throughout the country.
Following extensive review and discussion, US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have collectively decided to move to an age group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31, beginning in the 2026/27 season/registration year.
This change will better align with youth soccer with the school calendar and reduce situations where players are placed in a different age group than their classmates.

From ages 3 through 19, our Recreational Program offers a fun, inclusive environment for boys and girls of all skill levels. Designed to promote skill development and teamwork in a low-pressure setting, there are no tryouts required—just bring your enthusiasm for the game and enjoy the experience alongside fellow players. MTSC will continue to operate as it always has, now under the Lancaster FC umbrella, ensuring the same great program with expanded club support and resources.

Our U6-U8 program offers an exciting and encouraging environment where young players can have fun while developing essential soccer skills and learning the game. Following the guidelines set by USYSA, our program features small-sided games—3v3 for U6 and 4v4 for U7/U8—to maximize ball time and individual accomplishments. Goalkeepers are introduced at the U8 level, ensuring every child gets more playing time and, most importantly, more fun!

Our U9-U15 Recreational Program is the perfect introduction for new players. It’s designed for those who want to enhance their soccer skills, enjoy playing with friends, and experience team competition—all in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Open to all skill levels with no tryouts required.

At Lancaster FC, we provide competitive teams for boys and girls from U9 through U19, offering three distinct tiers—Academy, Elite and Premier—within each age group. This multi-level approach ensures every player can grow at the right pace, whether they’re striving for collegiate competition or simply building their skills in a positive, supportive setting. Led by experienced coaches, each tier focuses on fostering both athletic excellence and personal development, preparing our players for success on and off the field.

We are committed to providing Academy teams on both the boys and girls side from ages U9 - u19.

The Elite Teams are tailored for players on the cusp of joining our top-tier Academy. Here, athletes receive focused instruction and rigorous competition, with dedicated lead phase coaches ensuring that every player is consistently challenged and prepared for the next step. Where appropriate, age groups may have two Elite teams; Elite Black and Elite Red.
