Lancaster FC Launches Women’s Team in United Women’s Soccer (UWS)

Expanding opportunities for female players across the Lancaster community

Lancaster, PA — Lancaster FC is proud to officially announce the launch of its women's team, set to compete in United Women's Soccer (UWS), one of the premier pre-professional women's soccer leagues in the country, beginning in the Summer 2026 season. This expansion completes a true pathway for female players, connecting youth development to a high-level pre-professional platform, and represents a defining commitment to supporting the growth of the women's game at every stage of development.

Lancaster FC has already demonstrated strong success on the girls side, with recent graduating teams placing players into collegiate programs and current top teams competing at a high level across elite platforms. The addition of a UWS team ensures those players, and others across the region, now have a clear and local opportunity to continue their development and compete at the next level. This addition further positions Lancaster FC as one of the leading player development platforms in the region.

"We are incredibly proud to bring a UWS team to Lancaster FC. This is about building something meaningful and lasting for the girls and women in our club," said Roberto Aguas, President. "We have developed strong teams, placed players into college, and now we are completing the pathway. This was always part of the vision we laid out for Lancaster FC, and we are proud to bring it to life."

The team will feature a highly competitive roster of Lancaster FC players and alumni, top collegiate athletes, and standout regional talent, strengthening the local soccer ecosystem and giving the Lancaster community a team to call their own.

"This is a major step forward for Lancaster FC and our community," said Stephanie Cooke, Executive Director. "Joining United Women's Soccer reflects the growth of the women's game within our club and gives our players the opportunities they have earned. We are proud to offer a pathway for female athletes right here in Lancaster. This has always been a goal for us, and it is incredibly rewarding to see it come to life."

Lancaster FC will be announcing its home stadium venue and coaching staff in the coming weeks, along with additional details on roster development and open tryout opportunities ahead of the Summer 2026 season.
